How to Transform Your BodyMind Connection
Sensory MicroSkills to Cultivate Deep Body Awareness

This is an all-level experiential course in learning to Transform Your BodyMind Connection. One of the best ways to achieve this is to learn how to “listen to your body”. Listening to your body simply means that you learn to tune into the sensations that arise in your body, you become skilled at determining how you feel, and from this awareness you learn to respond wisely to your needs. Learning to respond rather than react can help you to experience more contentment and peace in your life in many ways, including enjoying increased health and well-being, increased intimacy in relationships and more happiness in your work. Your body provides you with a vast storehouse of information beyond what you ‘think’, and learning to tap into this information helps you to take better care of yourself.

This course will teach you essential micro-skills that help you to listen more acutely and accurately to the messages your body sends you every moment in order to live your life with intention. When you are disconnected from how you experience yourself in your body (sensations, feelings, and intuitions) you may find yourself misreading your body’s cues and messages and instead turning towards unhealthy coping strategies, such as overeating or staying up too late.
When you pay close attention to the body, you learn to tune into increasingly subtle sensations which provide you with a wider landscape of experience. When you connect mind and body, you feel more whole, complete and enjoy an increased sense of being in the flow of life.
Some examples of micro-skills we will be working on together:
Listening to Your Body Skills include:
- Sensation or sensory awareness skills
- Sensory scan
- Body scan
- Feelings or emotional awareness skills
- Emotional weather report
- Mapping this moment
- Thinking or thought awareness skills
- Mindfulness practice
- Learning to tame monkey mind
We will also be learning to discern the subtle differences between sensations and emotions, as well as the bodily connections between them.
